Power the Harvest of Energy From Solar

The conversion of the solar light in to electrical energy is called as Solar energy harvesting. In recent years, this technology attracted much more attention as it provided a clean, renewable and sustainable energy source.

Solar energy harvesting process

Oh, and Solar cells consist mainly of silicon; they work by absorbing photons from sunlight.

Moving on, Excitation of Electron: The solar cell material absorbs these photons, and the energy they provide excites electrons, creating pairs of negatively charged electrons and positively charged holes.

Charge Separation: The electric field in the solar cell separates electrons and holes, creating a unidirectional (DC) electric current.

Conversion of Energy: The DC electricity is converted to alternating current (AC) electricity through an inverter so that it can be supplied to homes and businesses or fed into the electrical grid.

Types of Technologies to Harvest Solar Energy

PV Cells: The most common type of solar cell, which converts sunlight directly into electricity.

Solar Thermal: Uses sunlight to heat a fluid — either befouled directly which can be used for space heating or to generate electricity.

1)Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs): Applying dye molecules to absorb sunlight and produce energy.

Organic solar cells (OSCs):- they are made from organic materials.

Use Cases of Solar Energy Harvesting

Home Solar Energy:** Powering homes

Powering our Businesses and industriesEnterprise-Commercial Solar Power.

Varioblast: Utility-Scale Solar Power (Large scale solar power plants)

Solar-Powered Devices:** Could be used to charge small electronic devices such as cell phones and watches.

Solar-Powered Vehicles: Electric vehicles which are powered by solar energy.

Obstacles and What Lies Ahead

There has been a lot of progress in solar energy harvesting, but challenges remain:

Intermittency:** Solar energy relies on sunshine, and sunshine is not a constant resource — it changes due to weather.

Storage:** We need energy storage solutions that are both efficient and reasonably inexpensive to handle intermittency.

Material costs:** The cost of the products,
